HMRC online tax year overview

Applying for a Mortgage with Barclays/Woolwich and they are requesting an online tax year review for 2013. My accountant states that the first year these are available for are the one I have sent namely 2014. Does anyone know if my accountant is correct or not?

Thanks in advance

    Your Accountant is correct.

It sounds like you are falling victim to a poorly thought out collaboration between HMRC and the Council of Mortgage lenders trying to automate the production of self employed income proof for borrowers.

Your broker should resolve this for you.

  • Unfortunately I'm doing the the process myself! I'm porting my existing mortgage to another property. This should have been easy but isn't!

You don't need to forgo the services of a broker just because it is a port.

Is there a difference between an HMRC TAX summary & and HMRC Tax Overview? Barclays keep asking for one and then the other!

We have covered this extensively on our website James.

You can produce an Annual Tax Summary from the HMRC system for the latest year.

This comprises a breakdown of your income and taxes and an income summary.

What they mean by an 'overview' I do not know. Perhaps they mean the standard SA302 which HMRC post out.

I have the SA302's but they want an online Tax overview for 2013 - Both HMRC andmy accountant tell me this isn't available as 2014 was the first year but Barclays insist on having it! :wall::wall::wall:

    Any Advice?

I'm now tempted to ditch this application and get a broker to do a new one. Will this be a problem with credit rating as the application hasn't been passed onto an underwriter yet?

You have a search on the record but that is unlikely to preclude further applications James.
