Radio/CD problem ?

When you take it out to look at the serial number, unplug it for a couple of minutes.
If it still won't go away, maybe that's one of the reasons the previous owner sold the car.0 -
Hi Zak,
If you can remove the stereo, the serial number will be either stamped into the stereo or will be stuck on it somewhere. Use that to obtain the code by posting on the forum mentioned above.
Sometimes, the stereo requires a live feed for the full hour before it will allow you to try and enter the code again. So if you switch the ignition off, the hour can reset and may have to start again the next time the ignition is switched on (so you can't just switch it all off and come back to it in an hour). Usually, if you leave it on while you drive, it will eventually reset and allow you to enter the code again.
If you want to swap it for the one from your corsa, you will need to make sure they are both the same size (i.e. the corsa stereo will fit into the same space), otherwise you may need a blanking plate - ebay is your friend here. Assuming they are the same size, you will need to ensure that the connections are the same. This is unlikely, however you can get adaptors online (again, ebay could probably help here). Simply enter "Nissan Micra Radio Adaptor" on Ebay. (I can't post links i'm afraid).
You would need to confirm your current radio type and age of Micra to ensure you buy the correct adaptor.
You would also need to check that the Corsa stereo can take the Standard Radio Connections that the above adaptor will give you. If you check Google Images for "ISO 10487" (also, wikipedia has a good image of the Standard Radio Connection). Again, I would post a link but I'm not allowed. Too new!
I've worked on a few corsa'a and Astra's and they have all had universal connections - I.E the ISO 10487. If the connections on your corsa stereo look like they are compatible with the ISO 10487, you should be good to plug and play. Otherwise, I would be looking for a cheap 2nd hand universal unit that is compatible with the above connection. Ebay or Gumtree should source you a good cheap one.
Personally, I would attempt to get the code for your Nissan unit first. If that fails, look to replace (first with you're Corsa unit, then for a 2nd hand alternative).
Hope that helps.

The 1Hr should go away after the stereo has been powered up for over 1 hr. If your stereo is not powered up then it may not be counting the time.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
