    norm & Javens, hope you've pointed out they owe you £10 for failed provision of the debit card - compensation for failing to get it to you. Info below is copied from page 3 of the Advance Welcome Brochure.

    Your new HSBC Advance Debit Card plus any cheque book requested will be delivered to your home address within five working days and your PIN within seven working days. In fact, we’re so sure of this, we’ll give you £10 if they’re delayed.

    No doubt they'll claim the time starts from when we receive back your signed form.

    I opened my account by telephone at the start of the month, took ID in on 5th - everything was ok'd and I still not received any paperwork - I gave them a call last week and they said everything seems fine but paperwork is a bit slower than normal... they couldn't really give me any other explanation, and I thought YB were slow!
