Dear All

Just want to try to explore this loophole ……
After doing BT by myself from Card A (existing balance) to Card B (new CC to be transferred to) I just noticed that I could ask the BT even higher than my existing Balance in Card A. Leaving the Credit card A in credit (positive balance) without being detected and without any problem at the moment. The positive balance in my case is just less than one hundred pound but looking for the possibility to push it to the limit for stoozing purposes.

I just want to see whether I could push it to the limit close to the maximum limit in the new credit card B. What I want to know is that whether there is potential problem that I have not aware of by doing this.

1. Is it possible to ask the BT much higher than the existing balance say £5000+ above the existing balance ??
2. Suppose it is possible what is the potential problem that might happen?

I am aware about the CC in credit (positive balance) in Credit card A will most likely breach the T&C. But here what I have got to loose. Even if the Credit card is suspended I will still get my money back to me and I could still put it back into high interest current account.

Opinion suggestion will be very much appreciated ...

Thank you very much for your time.

It may or may not work. There have been reports of it being successful and others of the whole transfer being rejected and others of the positive balance only being available for being sent back from where it came

What you have to win by putting it in credit?
How do you want to use it 'for stoozing purposes'?

Because of a !!!! up I did the same balance transfer twice, so on my old card I was nearly £2000 in credit and the new one rather over the credit limit.

But it all worked without problems

I got the second one refunded in the end.

I am thinking of asking the available balance to be put into high interest current account but I am not sure whether this is allowed.

You can certainly do this with 123s but I've only done it when I currently owe that card something. The first time was for about £500 and more recently for £800. This was so I could benefit from the Barclaycard BT offer within 60 days, which I achieved - just. Not accepted by my wife's M&S to try the same but she was in credit to them for a couple of £s. It's basically in the lap of 'computer says no' so have a plan B in mind. The 'detection' will be by what the software's programmed for.

What you "have to lose" is any BT fee paid.

I've done what you're proposing twice in recent months to a total of around £11-12K, but I wasn't paying a BT fee (Santander & Halifax). I wouldn't risk it if paying for a BT.

Thanks. I also have Barclay card. I have done BT to Loyds Platinum the Barclaycard is now in credit for less than £100 and nothing happen.

I want to do more BT from BC to Lloyd platinum, living the Barclay card in credit a few grands.

Did you have have a problem when you asked them to transfer the positive balance (in credit) from your Barclay card to your current account ??
