Ebay shop

Hi,
I got an email stating that ebay have seen I've listed a lot of items recently so they are offering me a 2 month free trial of a basic shop that incl 200 free listings per month.
I've often thought of trying a shop as from what I can gather you can turn it off if you want to go on holiday, which is handy because after a couple of years without one I will be having one this year. It would also be handy to be able to list stuff over a month rather than going mad trying to get stuff listed in 3 days during the free listings
So all good so far but reading the T & C's it states "only business" this and "only business" that as being part of the criteria one in particular being:-
"Only business sellers who have an eBay seller account and have placed their credit card on file."
I've linked my bank and debit card but I don't even have a credit card ???
I am not a business just a parent of 4 children who have no use for a of of their old things any more so I have been selling them.
So does this mean I can't have a shop, has anyone else had the email ?

You don't have to be a business to have a shop- but the terms and conditions are different depending on whether you are a business or private seller.
The offer appears to be for business sellers- I'm not sure whether it can be accepted to open a private shop- it might be worth phoning ebay to ask. A private shop though only has 100 free listings a month, as well as some other variations.
I have a business shop- and I wouldn't give it up at all now. As you say the ability to close it and remove all your listings from view is worth every penny I pay. My 'holiday' settings go on all the time, even if I just fancy a break from wrapping things.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks will do.
Paying for 100 listings (after the free trial) doesn't sound so tempting as 200 though0 -
Ebay sent another message to say they had made an error sending the original offer0

It appears they sent the offer to everyone, I got one and already have a shop.
An apology from eBay is a very rare thing though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
