De-clutter by the day!

Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if there is another challenge on here that already achieves this aim, but I really want to declutter. I live in a shared flat so the storage space I have sole access to is generally my bedroom. I threw lots of rubbish away when I moved in nearly a year ago, but I moved lots of 'stuff' that I realised last night I haven't touched since I moved. Clearly it either needs to be boxed up and store somewhere like my parents attic, or it needs to go to a better home or in the bin!
So I think I'm going to start my challenge on Sunday 1st March:
To remove one unused/unwanted item every single day until Dec 31st. No more, no less. 306 items less in my room by New Year 2016!
I suppose the trick is not to replace as I go along! And also to rearrange things as I go. Under my bed is being used as storage at the moment for things that I really need more regular access to. The space around my bed is limited, so it's a bit of a pain to dig around under there. I'm happy to store stuff under there that I really need to keep (like my musical instruments and archery gear, which do get used weekly) just not stuff like books in boxes!
Feel free to join me, or let me know of another challenge I can join that achieves the same thing!
My first port of call is my bookshelf. I have already decided which books I don't want, I now just need to get them to another home!

Hi
Just a quick tip for any clothes that you don't want. Recently I bagged up a load of clothes, shoes (in pairs!), old bras, bags and belts and took it to a Cash 4 Clothes unit. They only pay about 40p per kg but I made £30!
It might be an idea for you - they then sell the clothes abroad and you get cash on the spot.
Good Luck!0
