Did united tell you if its tap water or natural water?
The house might already have a sump pump and its packed up.
Are you on clay soil?Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -
Hi Russ/Zaax,
Thanks for the replies...
yes the link is good, I have a rough idea how they are put together, have been researching for the last week!!!! lol. All advice gratefully accepted !!!
Will have to wait and hope W.level goes down and it dries out ...I can't imagine it being dry again though. Then have to find someone to go down there !
Yes U/Utilities have tested the water on 4 separate occasions...they say its not tap water, he put tablets into it and if it was tap water it should turn pink, the water stayed clear!!!!
Not sure if there's a sump down there ,if there was there'd be a proper opening somewhere??? We have replaced all flooring since moving in and not noticed any "trapdoor" ...
Yes definately clay soil, in front paved area and back garden.
Have been in the garden today to take my mind off it, weeding etc.
Many thanks again,0 -
Hi Suzy
hope you enjoyed the gardening, far lass stressfull than sump pumps
Anyway, the idea behind the diagram was to highlight that the uPvc drain pipes and the connection to the sump pump is something that can be made without going 'under' - any installer worth their salt will be able to do this, so you don't have to worry about finding someone to crawl around under there fitting pipework.
Also - if the levels allow it, you could just go straight out from under the joists to the outside if your outside level is low enough.
There you go then - get your spade out and start installing

Good morning Russ/All,
I love my garden, hard work but, always looks nice in summer.
Yes I like the idea of making the job simple. The outdoor level is lower so it is doable!!!
Absolutely no idea who to contact to carry out the work though!! Def. not me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
More advice please !
Many thanks.0 -
Wish I had time to get in the garden!!

Plumber is your best bet, but if you can do the 'hard' work of digging out a pit first, you'll probably get a more positive response.
If you've near me the I'll do it in exchange for sorting my garden out
