If its unjalbroken its relatively safe, however Jailbraking can lead to issues. As far as I'm aware there is no AV for IOS devices, and I'm not sure Apple would allow one..

I visited someone the other day who had bought an ipad from PCWorld. They had also sold the 82 year old lady a mcafee security subscription.

I hope a place in hell is reserved for the vermin who knowingly sell such rubbish.

I know. There are much cheaper android or windows devices out there that are just as good.

No security required for apps. The only downside is that web based threats aren't really picked up (that I know of). I'd be glad for someone to correct me, but there's little in the way of security that stops you, say, entering your card details on a fraudulent website

  • With an iPad the system security and iOS construction is solid, stable and secure. There is no need for Anti -Virus software.
Apple also has strict controls on the Apps that you can download from iTunes store. This is in great contrast with Android where there are no rules at all on quality and infection.
With the recent Lenovo spam and virus on their new Windows PC range you have to watch out on all Windows devices from Phone to PC.

Apple security is starting to come under scrutiny.

Some recent attacks have been noted in the form of WireLurker and more worrying for apple users is Thunderstrike.

I await all the usual fan boy replies that they're nothing to worry about.

I've previously downloaded Avira Mobile Security for iOS.

It performs check on background processes for malicious operations etc.

It also scans your contacts list to see if anyone has a compromised email address of which you can alert them so they can change their password if the email account has been hijacked to send out spam.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
