Boots passport photo policy?

Does anyone know what policy Boots have if their assistant photographed passport photos are rejected by the passport office? I know Snappy Snaps promise to retake theirs for free and was wondering if Boots do the same?

Mine were rejected saying that I don't appear to have a neutral expression in the photos submitted, although to be fair I can't see why.

And what did Boots say when you asked them?

At the time the photos were taken, did the supplier know that they were needed for passport purposes? If so, I think you would have a right to replacement since the goods supplied were not fit for purpose.

But that is null since the excuse is "don't appear to have a neutral expression".
That is out of the photobooth's control, therefore not the responsibility of the photo booth provider I'd say.

It appears they were photos taken by a person not a booth.

  • They were marketed as as service for Passports and 'European official applications' or something similar.
I popped in this afternoon and asked what their policy was. The assistant immediately said that they refund the photos and rung it up immediately. I asked them to redo them instead, which they did without a problem.
