Vanquis Dispute

Basically i made a purchase online for the amount of £1100 on my vanquis credit card. They transaction didnt go through because my address didnt match.

So i called up vanquis to change my address was informed that i had to report my card lost or stolen and the he would put a lock around my money so it couldnt go anywhere. And it would be returned to my account once i validated address.

So i sent all the appropriate paper work off to vanquis 2 weeks later my address is validated. Still no money returned to my credit card.

I ring up vanquis they tell me the money has been paid out 2 days after i they said they locked it. i said how can it be paid out when my card was reported stolen. They said the online shop have to money.

I call up the online shop "we never recieved the money it was locked by your credit card company please contact them". which is what i was lead to believe had happened on the day.

Call up the credit card company we havent got your money. We autherised the payment. We will send you out a disputes disclaimer.

So my question is what do i do. And what is a disputes disclaimer.

ps sorry for the bad grammer and spelling. :p

Reporting the card lost/stolen was a stupid advice.
  • Thanks for the reply.

I forgot to say that I had to report the card lost or stolen as they had sent me a new one out as my card was going to expire at the end of next month. To my old address. I also forgot to say that I had previously changed my address to my current on. And had received letters from them. But was told they have no record of this.
