rover ebay?

Have recently been getting frequent "pop up" windows "rover ebay" which appear to have the same green surround as my normal windows in Kaspersky protected browser. Am not capable enough to deal with this myself, even with instruction, so am backing up ready for a friend to do a reinstall of laptop to be done. Just wanted to know- has anyone heard of this and is it probably a virus? Seems to happen on laptop with Chrome or Firefox. Will be changing passwords etc. on another laptop. I use online banking so wondered if it is a "man in browser" problem. Thanks.

for someone not capable of removing malware or a virus, using a technical(ish) term such as 'man in browser' is a little strange.0

Rover is part of eBay's affiliates program, Google it and then come back if you still think there's an issue.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Have googled it and understand a bit more. Still unsure why the window keeps on coming up when I am on aol mail or a banking website sign in window. Only used the "man in browser" comment as had been trying to find out online what could be wrong and it came up. Am really not sure what it means.0

I wonder if maybe eBay ads are being injected into other websites and your AV is picking them up? (I've never seen this because I use ad blocking software).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It could be. Something not right as it seems to be getting worse. Will get laptop checked over as have done malwarebyte and kaspersky scans and think it is probably something I have downloaded somehow. Thank you for help.0

I have also started to get this pop up constantly. Mine has a brown border which is the same as my Kaspersky. Has anyone come up with a solution please. (I am not at all technical so plain English please)0

I suspect Strider's answer is correct, rover is the system ebay uses to track clicks to their websites so I suspect the warnings are for ebay adverts.
