I've just had a read through his thread and would like to ask what people eat on a day to day basis if they are low carbing.....a lot of my diet is based around pasta, potato's, rice etc....i just wondered what you substitute this with xx

Sweet potato, eggs, you can make cauliflower and broccoli "rice" and pizza crust. Quinoa (which does have carbs but is high in protein as well).

How do you make cauliflower and broccoli rice? Sounds yummy! :)

Cauli & broccoli rice, chop florets into pieces about the size of a large walnut and blitz a few at a time with a blender. A pint sized bowl is enough for two people as a substitute for spuds, rice, pasta. Microwave for 6 mins (no water required), or steam if you don't have a microwave.

I feel your pain too! The summer before last I was 1.5 stones less than I am now. I bought loads of new clothes but by last summer I couldn't wear them so there's no chance this summer unless I get a move on.

There's a lot more to losing weight than just eating less and exercising more. There definitely is a genetic link. My friend is chubby and constantly diets. Her hubby is stick thin and eats like a horse. One of their adult daughters takes after her and one after the Dad yet they both eat and exercise similarly. Most people in my family gain a lot of weight in their middle years and I've done the same.:(

I hope you find the motivation.:)
