Ebay return

Hi,

would be interested to get opinions.

Sold a used sat nav through ebay (private seller). The buyer opened a case for a item not as described and a comment that the GPS signal was not being picked up by the sat nav). I accepted the return through ebay.

Received the return and tried it, and it does work (I.e. does pick up the GPS signal and work as a sat nav should). Should I be disputing that the buyer's reason is not valid? Thanks

Don't waste your time and effort, Paypal and Ebay won't care. Just be grateful you got it back in one piece and working. Block the buyer, re list and move on.

Do you even have an option to appeal?

I've had a business competitor buy an item, and return it (at my expense!) with a completely bogus reason. I cannot find any way of appealing at all, and off course 'report a buyer' just goes into a blackhole unread.

You have to phone eBay to appeal. Hubby wanted to appeal a case that was closed against him and couldn't work out how to do it. He phoned and they said he had to do it over the phone. But the call centre is based in south-east Asia (Malaysia possibly?) and it's pot luck whether you get a call handler who understands English.

Yes you would have to call & speak to the drones in Manilla, even our Dublin based customer support put us through to them

ebay are offshore based dictators. they dont have a fair and reasonable policy apart from the buyer is always right even when they are indecisive time wasters or out and out swindlers

What are Ebay supposed to do in this case? However much you think they earn, it isn't enough to be sending employees/representatives to test items buyers claim are faulty.
If I was the seller I'd be pleased to get a working item back, the buyer could well have just damaged it or it had been damaged in transit.
There's a report buyer button, click that, send report and move on. If someone else does that for the same seller it might have an effect on their account.
