Hi I have approx £500 to spend I would like a auto-adjust backlit keyboard as I cannot see in dim light and at the moment I have to sit under a very bright lamp to see my keyboard.
14/15 inch screen
I would like a DVD also inbuilt
I use laptop for browsing comping business and general use so I do not need anything spectacular
Thank you for looking

We have some at work however they are not cheap. Backlit keyboards are often seen on high end or ruggedised laptops.
Look at the HP Envy or Elitebook range. or the Dell XFR Range0 -
My wife has a Sony Vaio with a backlit keyboard and a DVD drive.
The old model Dell XPS laptop does too if you can get one. Not cheap though.0 -
Would you consider a secondhand machine? As others have said, this tends to be top tier machines and increasingly machines are dropping optical drives so may open up more possibilities if you are willing to go for used0

A cheaper alternative may be to buy a plugin usb back lit keyboard which are available for around £15
