Evening DFW-Jedis,
Well, life goes on, as does the almost everlasting quest for solvency and sanity.
Today was a work day so all I only managed a couple of things.
The List:
:starmod: Check online banking and reconcile monies.
:starmod: Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight.
:starmod: Took a packed lunch to work.
:starmod: Ordered OH's main birthday present. Negotiated free postage. Managed to raise 50% of the cost by de-cluttering and selling things on eBay.
:starmod: Did the maths and I believe I can get my debt down to £999 in a couple of weeks' time. This will be a huge milestone for us.
That's all, I'm afraid. Good luck on your quests, Jedis.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Evening all,
Today has been a NSD yay
Had PT session at gym (this had already been paid for as it was session 4/10)
Used my last voucher to get gel nails soaked off and redone (this had already been paid for by hubby as a Christmas present)
The rain was really bad which would usually mean that I would park in the multi storey car park attached to Debenhams in town but instead I parked and walked (10mins walk) which saved me at least £4
Didn't buy anything else in town and came home for lunch from stores
Dinner from stores too
Heating hasn't been on at all (sat cwtched under blankets with the kids watching a movie so warm enough)Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Yes, serious water damage in any case. Thanks Foxgloves, I do hope this year will be a good one. But when I read some others on here with small businesses. I realise how well I have done to walk out of this one unscathed financially. Much of which comes down to sticking rigidly to a budget month after month even when large sums have appeared in my business account, ignoring them, making them go even further. It has stood us in good stead for the reopen, but now I need luck too which is a massive factor for small business. Fingers crossed.
Wishing you all the best for the reopening of your shop BobarellaGoodness it is difficult enough without a flood to contend with
Well done on your ninja budgeting
I would love a shop of my own, but it just seems too risky, around here and in my line of business at least, so content myself with renting a space in one.0 -

I know exactly how you feel on this one. I'm so grateful to have work for most of this year but, while most of the people are lovely, some aspects of the workload are mind-numbingly boring and one person's disorganisation and lack of knowledge of standard working practices in the industry (flying by the seat of their pants!) causes me LOTS of unnecessary work
I'm trying to find little things to make me feel better, eg, I've started taking myself off to another area with my book at lunchtime so people don't automatically assume they can ask me work-related stuff at lunch time as I'm sat at my desk. I *always* have a lovely mug at work because drinking from beautiful china makes me happy and if all else fails I just think of the money
Nothing much to report for me today except the MrT delivery was just a small one and composed entirely of things from the half price section.

Viewing booked for Saturday morning. I'm half hoping they won't like the house as the only house I'd be remotely interested in buying in our area at the moment is my own!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
