I don't think Vanquis love me anymore. They kept upping my credit limit up to the point where it was around £3000. I paid the card off and now I think they've reduced it to £900.

They were always very eagar to up my credit. I never liked them though. High rates and very poor customer service.

I had a Vanquis card with a £150 limit and never had an increase. I had no late payments with them or anyone else but never had an increase in 3 years.
I then got a Barclaycard with a starting limit of £800. Then almost straight away my Vanquis limit went to £550 and then 4 months later to £1500.

I had a Vanquis card with a starting limit of £500 and had increases over the course of about 2 years until my limit reached £3000. I never spent anywhere close to the limits (petrol money only once a month) and cleared the balance in full every month.

Card companies earn fees from usage as well.

Correct, but it is the merchant acquirer that earns those fees, rather than the card issuer.

I've had a Vanquis card for 20 months and no credit limit increase! I have no idea why...

    Same here.

Had mine for just under 2 years with a £500 limit.

I usually spend up to £100 a month on it(gone up to £250 on one occasion but I generally just use it for petrol) and pay it off in full every month.

Not had a single increase in credit limit or been contacted about one.

    Hi everyone,

I got my vanquis credit card on 13th nov 2014 and started off with a £250 credit limit. At first I used to pay my balance off in full each month but after the 4th month statement when I expected my increase I didn't get one so I started paying the min payment by direct debit each month but always payed an extra £50 to £80 onto the card each month aswell. I got an email from vanquis on the 6th July saying my credit limit would be increased to £1000 on the 6th August, I really hope this helps anyone who is wondering how long it will take for credit increase.

I know a lot of people say these credit cards are a joke and interest is very high but if you run your account well don't miss any payments and don't go over credit limit then you will be fine I used to buy everything with cash and never had any debt under my name and it effected my credit rating as there was no way of companies knowing how well I pay. I would recommend only using this card to rebuild credit and not for shopping sprees as that could become dangerous

    Thanks

I have had my Vanquis Card since April with a £250.00 limit. Always pay in full, but 2 weeks after my fourth statement no notification of an increase next statement so presume I am not getting one :-(
