Nationwide refer a friend - confusion

Hi all,
My sister completed an online form referring me to open a nationwide account a couple of months ago. She received an email and forwarded this onto me but I didn't receive any other emails. I recently opened a nationwide flex direct account and in the branch they told me that the refer a friend bonus would be credited to the account by the 20th of this month. I was told that there was nothing else I had to do. I phoned nationwide and they claimed there was nothing on my account that would suggest I have been referred. Has anyone had a similar experience to this? I was surprised that the staff in branch didn't seem to have a clue about this!
Thanks!

Rather than us ask you if you've switched 2 DDs, or if she has a cashcard account (which doesn't count for the referral), or any number of other questions, why not read the referral T&Cs...

...and if you're both sure you have complied, then you both go the formal complaint route...

...don't you?0 -
Great thanks for that advice, totally makes sense!
I just wanted to make sure I hadn't skipped out a step and that I shouldn't have received any emails from nationwide themselves.0
