Changing solicitors after mortgage offer received

Hi all,

We just received our mortgage offer this morning so I rang our solicitor to let her know the news. She then told me she is leaving the firm at the end of March. My question is, can another solicitor at the same firm pick up the conveyancing? Does the lender have to re-issue the mortgage offer or would it be ok if a different solicitor in the same firm takes on the case?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I changed solicitor after mortgage offer as seller was using same solicitor.

Not a big deal. Someone in same firm or even different firm can pick it up. Just ring lender and tell them details of new solicitor.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

    Yes, of course.

The mortgage instructions are issued to the firm, not an individual solicitor.
