Parcelforce 48 drop-off at Post Office

Options
Not strictly eBay related, but I thought this was the best place to find some parcel knowledge!

I'm couriering a pace. The recipient is paying and has arranged a Parcelforce label for me and emailed it through. They have used Parcel2go.

They say I can just drop it at any Post Office.

The label has no barcode or Parcelforce reference number on it. Just a Parcel2go reference beginning P2G....

Is this all I need to drop it off at the PO?

Thanks in advance.

I stand to be corrected but I think you'll need the Parcelforce barcode for the Post Office, or even Parcelforce to accept it. I don't know that the PO have any kind of relaionship with P2G. I'd check if there's another page on your email/attachment and if not get in touch with the seller.

Also if this is an eBay sale are you happy you have full tracking and insurance assuming the value is high enough?

Hmm. It looks nothing like that!

It has my address top right. Then the delivery address. Then

    Service: Parcelforce Express 48
    Collection date: 26/2/2015
    P2G reference: P2Gxxxxxxxxxx

No barcodes or other reference numbers. No Parcelforce logo. Just a Parcel2go logo.

They said they had to create it as a collection (which I didn't want, because I'd rather go to the PO than wait in all day!) but that they've "advised Parcelforce that I'm going to drop it off instead". I suspect they've messed up.

Not eBay, but a supposedly professional company who do all their business by courier or post. They don't seem too clued up about it to be honest!

With P2G you should have got an email confirming the order. For UPS it has similar information to that you have given under the heading Your Order Information. Below that is What to do Next and one of the options is View/Print Labels. I imagine it is similar for Parcel Force.
  • Parcelforce bring their own labels for P2G collections, so the driver will come with a label, meaning you can't drop at a Post Office.
