Victoria Plumb delivery

Am I in the right place? Hopefully!
Have had my eye on a Victoria Plumb bathroom wall cabinet for ages - reduced to £139.99.
They want £34.99 to deliver it!!!! I am still actually reeling. I have spoken with two people there who both say even though its size and weight mean it falls in the 'small item' category with £7.99 postage (under 30kg and under 1.5m in length), it is classed as 'fragile' and needs two men to deliver it.
Really?! I find that very hard to believe.
I have told them if it's that fragile and takes two grown men to lift, I don't want it hanging on my wall full of stuff anyway.
Yes, it is a very tall (narrow) cabinet, and probably very heavy, but it still falls within their small item weight/size limits.
They obviously aren't going to budge - and nor am I. I know I'm being totally stubborn, but I'd actually rather pay more for a cabinet elsewhere with a lower delivery charge or free delivery. I know I should say it's just semantics and it's the overall total that should matter, but £34.99?!!!! For a cabinet?!!!! I'd pay that for the whole suite, but a cabinet? Sorry, as you can see, I find it somewhat gobsmacking.
It's like me ordering a pair of shoes for £100 and being charged £25 delivery! (Okay so they'd have to be fragile, heavy shoes, but you get my gist.)
Sorry rant over. I think I just wanted it 'out there' that I wasn't impressed with them and to let others know about their delivery charges for 'small' items!
Such a shame as I really bloody liked it.

I agree - was in the same position yesterday and put me right off. It's easier and cheaper for me to collect from a local business.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

We got another one that cost £160 (with free delivery). It was totally the principle of the matter with me. Don't blame you VfM3meplse! I prefer the one we chose as it doesn't have handles on the outside.
Have to say though, it is VERY heavy! Still doesn't change my opinion on the fact £35 is too much for delivery for an item like that. Such a swizz.

Be glad you didn't bother, the quality of their stuff is pretty poor anyway!0
