Hi guys just got a focus recently but one or two of the plastic wheel trims needs some attention, whats best way to iron our scratches without buying new trims?

You can't really get rid of the scratches. Buy some aftermarket trims - they're under £30 a set.

Thanks I was hoping you could lightly sand down and respray assuming you can match metallic silver spray paint, it must be a common problem very easy to catch wheels when you pull in, I heard you can patch allow wheels abeit professionally

Or try your local scrappie - must be loads of pranged Focii by now.

Or try the ManAtHome strategy - if it's not a bit directly involved with stopping or going, it's dispensable...

After sanding/filling you don't need to match the colour, just spray the whole trim.

The original trims will be expensive at the dealers but i have seen aftermarket ones for as little as £10 a set in places like B+M bargains.About 10 years ago a Rover dealer charged my mother £25 for one for a Rover 100!!

If you want to stay original, painting or the scrap yard are your best bet.

Well you can do that but it'll look absolutely horrendous unless you do all of the trim amd every one of them regardless of whether they've been scratched and even then, it'll be obvious you have.

you can use wet n dry paper and a skim of plastic filler...then aerosol the whole trim

to be honest , after youve messed around and bought all the gear id just go for a pair of new ones at the dealer...might not be as dear as you think
