Tax code when on a bank register as well?

I started a new, full-time permanent job as a community support worker with the NHS this month and have just got my payslip. My tax code is "BR NONCUM". I have also stayed on the bank register for the job I used to have (clinical support worker at a hospital with a different trust) but have not worked any hours this month.
I earned approx £1300 and was taxed £400, is that correct? £80 was my NHS pension, £70 NI D and £250 PAYE (rounded up). Seems like a lot to me but is this due to my name being on the bank register? Technically it is an additional job but if I'm being taxed loads because of it wouldn't I be making money by leaving?
Sorry for my ignorance, and thank you for any advice! - B

The BR tax code is because it is a second job, your full allowance is probably set against the bank. The deductions seem correct. As this is now your main job you need to ask the tax office to move the tax allowance across. I doubt it will be possible to do it this financial year so you will need to reclaim after the end of the year. Leaving will not make you any better off, you will still need to pay the correct tax for your earnings - it is just how it is collected that is currently incorrect.0

Thank you guys- answered my questions perfectly. Yes the tax code for my bank job is 1000L so I will contact HMRC to change them.0

I have just had the same and i rang HMRC and they asked me how i wanted to split the tax allowance so i did 8000 with my main job, as it is part time and 2000 with my bank job.
I will also get a small rebate after april for the few months it was on emergency tax.0
