Uniform Tax Rebate

Hi All,

I have recently became aware of a tax rebate for those who wear a uniform to work of which they have to maintain themselves. I am not very knowledgeable on tax issues, however is it easy to reclaim this tax?

It's fairly easy to do but don't expect to get hundreds back, it's worth around £17 a year depending on your circumstances.

Thanks, all sorted. I'm getting £60 per year back dating from the 2010/11 year.

I think this is more likely to be a tax allowance of £60 a year which if you are a standard rate tax payer will be worth £12.

Why is it an allowance of £60 if only £12 is paid?

That's what I was trying to say in my earlier post, I've seen a few people get their hopes up expecting hundreds of pounds rebate from hmrc
