Credit Card Execution 2015

An up and down weekend.
The negatives...- I had a haircut and colour, which I'd booked in for weeks ago (pre MSE lifestyle) and has a somewhat hefty pricetag. I was gutted at paying to realise it had gone up by £19 from the last time, as the normal girl has gone to "Senior Stylist" or similar.
- Spent £8.25 last night in a off-license as I'd ran out of essentials, which per about twice the price as when part of normal shop
- My balance transfer has gone through, I'll update my signature ASAP, I think it should save a couple of hundred quid in total
- My Mam and Dad were down, and insistant on buying food as they were staying with us, so no spending of pennies
- I've kept up with my "pay the date" attack, only £1 to pay in today though, but I'm finding this is a really nice way to just skim off money from my current account so that I don't spend it on other bits and bobs
- One thoroughly happy little boy even doing cheap activities over the weekend, including baking, lots of time in the park and cutting up old magazines and sticking. Previously spent about £50 a weekend just on trips out.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend xx0 -
Good luck make making the £12 stretch, I'm sure you can do it! Amazing how creative you can get with food and stuff when things are tight
Totally with you on the children having fun front- so many of the best things are free, especially when they are young. Mine love nothing more than a muddy romp in the park!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Hi PinkPoppies!
I've just been paid for an item on ebay and should sell another 9 this week (I maxxed out on my 10 per month limit straight away). But any profit will be put straight on CC and see how I do with the £12.
I'm super excited about seeing what I can get for that! I have loads of store cupboard ingredients to make breads/cakes/etc so I'm thinking homemade quiche for supper, using leftover meats and veg to eek out the filling and then plan the rest of the week. The boys love homemade pizza.
To be honest there's not much I enjoy more than a muddy trip to the park either. Wee Man is currently trying to learn hide and seek, but hiding behind lamp posts and giggling is currently giving him away. Adore the enthuisiasm and boundless joy a 3 year old has and brings!0 -
My youngest hides in the same place every time, usually in plain sight! :rotfl:

Hi Janeypoo
I shall introduce myself to your diary by confessing I've just accidentally reported your last post as spam. Or perhaps it was the cat who has a habit of walking over the keyboard. I've unreported it now - sorry!!
Anyway in more useful words, I wondered if there was a reason you didn't apply for a BT card in its own right? You said, I think, you have a good credit rating (with the exception of the one small item being removed) and you are paying very high interest rates. There are some very good deals right now.
Just a thought. Good luck with your journey.0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37

Hello Mfmaybe! Thank you for erm, stumbling on me? No harm done
To be honest, I hadn't realised this was an option, so that's down to my ignorance and reluctance to have another credit card. I would have guessed an extra card wouldn't look good?
I have got that default removed, which was a relief. It was only £15 but made me feel sick.
I will phone up CC2 to see if they will offer a BT at 0%, as I've just checked the eligibility calculators and it's likely (90%) they'd accept me for a really good deal, so should hopefully be open to me proposing it?
Eek I just have no idea how to handle banks. But thank you for your advice.0 -
Day hasn't started off so well. Stuck in traffic for 20 minutes so was late, which I hate and people not paying for items on 3Bay, why?!!!!
Ok that's a little over dramatic. But just niggles me.
I was meant to run an easy 10k last night as part of my marathon training, but I seem to have a calf issue which was really painful so only managed about 3k. I'm never really sure what to do with things like that, how to help it recover. I don't know whether to run on it gently or just complete rest.
On the slight up side, I'd completely forgotten I have a reward current account, so that was an extra £5 today which I've put straight to CC2. Little happy moment as I didn't allocate it, in my head, to a cheeky coffee or eating out after my Parkruns on Saturdays.
Hope you're all well today! Will check in later once I update my signature.

'Easy' 10k run?! I can't run for toffee!

Hehe that's a nice wee boost. I never thought I'd hear myself say that either, an "easy 10k". 18months ago I was about 18 stone and couldn't run a bath.
Now I've ran 1 marathon, half marathons regularly and 10k almost every day. Still overweight, techcnially, but won't stop until the jiggle stops!!
I have tried, and failed, to get on a horse once..... all credit to riders. When I've read some of your time on the ponies I'm in awe!!0
