    Hello to all the newbies!

    - well spent my free £75 at Mr s. Cuboards and freezers all full yey! Got lots of fresh stuff too, so meals will be based on using that up first. Also got lots of treats as well. The basic range seams a lot dearer than my usual supermarket but the branded stuff seams to be on real good offers, so spent that little bit more and got items I wouldn't usually get. Been living on basic simply meals (still yummy) but can have a change for a little bit now. Only thing I didn't get was tea, coffee, sugar was extremely expensive and wanted to stick with a cheaper product I know I like. Well except sugar, I just forgot that!
-picked ds1 up early as poorly. So I've received the school photos she had taken a few weeks ago! £32 for framed class photo!!!!! That's all the money I have for the week without dipping into other funds and I still have to pick up a bday present. Usually me and my ex get a pack and spilt the photos however this is just one! You can get just the photo for £16. Think I will have to get that and try and find a frame to fit. Just a little worried re the shape, will have to look around and see if they sell them! And I thought I'd have some extra cash this week to put away :-(
    - out tomorrow evening with bf, just the local pub. Have got £20 in spends budget so that's covered. However I think I'll still to half lagers and take my time. Would like to come home with some change. May set out a little later as well to decrease drinking time. Pub is just around corner so no taxi fairs Yey

Well I better get cracking on with the rest of the list while little ones are having a nap

    Xx

  • Almost time to go to work: 1 of 3 night shifts to do, but what a day it has been! I feel like I have accomplished a lot!

Managed to report/stop a fraudulent transaction on my Paypal account to the tune of £335.98

Found out it would be impractical to have a water meter. (Could still be explored if I could convince my hubby and children to be more economically attuned)

Paid £1000 to Halifax credit account

Instructed Payplan to forward remaining money in my account to Halifax (£231) and close my DMP. Now that there's only 1 remaining account to be paid off, my hubby and I think we can manage paying if off on our own (I hope we made the right decision)

Cancelled dental plan (£11.10/mo or £133.20/year)

    Cleaned my kitchen

Do 2 batches of laundry using £0 for electricity (thanks to the solar panels) Will hang clothes outside tomorrow when I get in from work (£0)

Dishwasher on £0 due to solar panels too.

Opened all curtains to let in light (£0 electricity)

Purged emails and direct debits and standing orders.

Prepared envelops for next month's budgets.

Made vegetable soup (family think it's my best soup so far) - using a bowl of left-over steamed mixed vegs that my husband nearly threw out, half-opened onion, half-opened potato in the fridge + a bit more in chiller, withering celery at the bottom of the fridge and starting-to-wilt spring onion. Kept the bottom part of the spring onion to plant in pots in 2 days time when roots start to grow. There's still a bit of soup left to take to work as my "lunch"

"Pruned" my potted parsley and put in freezer in small portions to use later. Kept the pot hoping the plant will continue to give me more parsley. Also froze some of the left over spring onions mentioned above.

Watched Martin Lewis' video on reclaiming bank charges. (Next mountain to climb)

Now off for some zzz's before going on night shifts for some much needed enhancement pay. (to go towards Halifax account)

    Evening DFW-Jedis,

Well, life goes on, as does the almost everlasting quest for solvency and sanity.

Today was a work day so all I managed was:

    The List:

:starmod: Check online banking and reconcile monies.

:starmod: Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight.

:starmod: Take a packed lunch to work.

Erm, that's it! Good luck on your quests, Jedis.

Well done Twiggy and Only Girl on your debt busting and hello to everyone else :)

I was woken at 5am this morning by one of the cats coughing up a furball right next to my pillow. DH got up and cleaned it up and put a bathmat over the wet spot but it still wasn't very conducive to sleep! (The other cat at least has the decency to aim it over the edge of the bed onto the floor!)

I bought a sandwich again today but at least I cooked curry from the freezer for dinner so no spends there.

I have an online shop to do and then I'm going to bed early with the iPad to catch up on Monday's 10,000BC and then to read my book until I doze off.

    Goodnight all!

  • Thanks FatVonD. Sorry to hear about your cat. Good night and enjoy your book.

Here's wishing for a good debt-busting day tomorrow, fellow DFW-Jedis (wink, wink allydowd):wave:
