Morning all! Very grey here but supposed to get milder, we shall see.
Washing machine on, need to change beds and have a hoover round later.
Did the floors yesterday but no baking, so want to do that today but lacking in inspiration at the moment. I will be attempting a mediterranean fish stew for dinner, to fit around DS13's parents evening.0 -
Morning all,
Dumpling, I am concerned for your daughter. I would be worried too. I agree, you have to tell your daughter. Forewarned is forarmed. Of course you've only heard second hand about what the boyfriend is like but its good to know nonetheless.
Youngest is going through a rough time with the girlfriend. She's paranoid that he's talking to other girls on the internet as he doesn't jump quick enough when she calls him in Skype. "For goodness don't get her pregnant" I told him last night. "She's on the pill" he said. "Take responsibility for your own fertility" was my answer.
Slept pretty well last night considering all the things that were floating round in my head. Ive got to the conclusion where I must prioritise my worries.
My daughter in South Africa. I cant help her but I can encourage her to look after herself and not to take on more than she can physically handle.
My son. Advice is all I can offer.... Such as taking care of his own fertility. He's got no excuse, theres a box of condoms in his drawer that I bought months ago.
Mom, time for me to step back I think. For now at least. I'm getting too involved emotionally I think.
My early morning smile. The gas board is digging up the road outside my house. Parking is a nightmare at the best of times since a new business has set up close by. Its going to be impossible until the roadworks are completed. Ive just have a very nice gas board man come knocking on my door to ask who owns the black car down the road. Ive told him, except I don't fancy his chances of getting her to move her car. She's the local bucket mouth. Lovely to your face but you annoy her and she goes for the jugular.
Thinking of Lamewolf without internet. Hope you get back online soon.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all,
Mild here today, supposed tobe going to knitting group, but may have to 'babysit' DGS 1 as he is not well, he may go to his other granny, so will be late to group.
Hugs and best wishes to those in need of one.
Dumpling....that is so worrying, you have to tell your daughter to put her on her guard, I hope that it works out well for her.
LW hope that you get back on line soon.
Judi, hope that your son sees sense with his girlfriend....that kind of relationship is not good for him , so your advice to him was good I think.
TA, hope that OHs results are good, hospital appointments are a joke everywhere.
Csarina, please rest as much as possible, you need to get yourself back to your usual lively self.....special hugs.
Off to knitting, as DGS1 not getting here until after lunch.

Morning chums bit damp and bleugh here in north Kent.No shopping to go out for at least which is good.I dom nhave a pile of ironing to do today but I'm not too worried as I also have some catch-up t.v. to watch while I'm doing it so it all helps to pass the boring bits of ironing away
:):)
I'll have to have a root around the freezer to see what I can dig out for dinner tonight I have cabbage ,and carrots already prepped in the frisge so only have some spuds to do and what ever I can find to go with it I think I have a pork chop in there that will do.
My brother phoned me this morning from France to see how much he owes me for bits I have bought and sent over, so fingers crossed he will be transferring some cash to my english account later today.
he was hoping to come over for a visit next month ,but now it looks as though it will be April at least.
Right time to get a wriggle on
Have a good day chums and keep wrapped up warm and safe

DD popped over yesterday evening and is really pleased with the window seats and matching bolsters which also match the dining chairs. She sent me a photo of them and it looks good.
Travelling abuela
We find St James is very busy too but the staff are fantastic.I hope your DH continues to do well. DH always likes to arrive early for everything so I make sure I have a book in my bag and change for a coffee etc. Sending off invitations this afternoon for our wedding blessing in April. Beginning to wish I had not bought a dress I loved in the sale at an optimistic size.
Made leek and potato soup for lunch and DH had that with a large baked potato with butter then sponge pudding and custard. Also made YS lamb steak into a stew with carrots and onions for tonight.
Will go to post office this afternoon, chemist and library to return some books. Still to read the Kondo book but decluttering anyway and trying a new way of folding towels so they look neater in airing cupboard and take up less space.
Wave to Lame Wolf and I hope she gets back on internet soon and hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all
Still rushing about here, still got to take DGD to her swimming assessment at 6 then I can put my feet up.
Dumpling, what a worry for you, you do need to warn your DD but I was told my hubby had beaten his ex wife black & blue, I'd known him 5 years by then & he is the last person to be violent, I think it was just part of a smear campaign she was still running against him. He has never raised his hand to me in anger in 15 years & I don't believe he ever will.
Hug

Dumpling, I do hope you speak to your DD, 1. She needs to know and 2. You can't keep something like that to yourself or you will be sick with worry.
TA - Hope your DH suffers no ill effects, such a long day for you both.
hilstep - hope you feel better soon.
Csarina, rest up and eat well.
Judi, you have too many worries there, remember to look after yourself.
After saying it was bad weather this morning, by 8.30 the sun was shining and not a cloud in the blue sky. By lunch time it was raining again but at least there isn't any wind at the moment.
Got held up on the way to work by an accident on the main road but made it in time. I've just tried to put my new wardrobe together and discovered that it is damaged to the point that it wont go together. Need to phone them tomorrow to sort that out.
Just met up with friends for a late lunch and had a lovely chicken and bacon salad. Toodlepip!0 -
Busy day today we went over to Wickes and have chosen the bits that we want for the bathroom,DH has decided to replace the shower first, that way at least he won't be so pushed to finish it in a couple of days, luckily we have a downstairs loo. he is going to borrow our friend's transit to get the Tiles, shower cubicle and granite shower tray on Saturday. My nephew, bless him is going to wire the shower in for me because he is a registered electrician so that will save us a few squid.
Then I had physio this afternoon and she actually saw how big my knee gets when it plays up,which is the size of a football, literally.
So she gave me another ultrasound treatment, to try to help take the swelling down. It is really weird because you can actually hear it in your head, but no-one else can hear it.
Have to go back again next week, this is really going to be a long haul
The trouble is it doesn't last long so tonight is is swollen again, so is the other knee.
Dumpling, I would be so worried if that were my DD, you must tell her so that she can be on her guard.
TA I know what you mean about having to wait because the consultant and his registrar's are running behind shedule, I regularly visit two hospitals and it happens in both of them(((Hugs))) for your DH.
Off to bed now, sweet dreams all xxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
