"Reverse provide credit"? (Credit card noob needs help!)

Upon doing my weekly credit card statement check online, I was shocked to find this on my statement:
2007.07.30 - REV PROV CRDT MCHT ONE WORLD HEALTH - Charge: $64.95"
followed by:
2007.07.30 - Overlimit Fee - Charge: $39.00
Before I continue, let me give you a little bit of background:
I recently finished dealing with a company (or so I thought) who somehow got a hold of my credit card number and used it to charge me $64.95 and send me some unsolicited skin care crap. I reported them to my credit card company and they reversed the charge.

Now a month later, same thing happens to me (they charge me another $64.95 and send me more crap). But when I complained this time, my credit card company told me they couldn't do anything about it and suggested that I talk to the company that's charging me the money. So I did, and this company told me that if I return their crap they'll refund the charge. I eagerly returned it, and to my surprise, they held up their end of the deal and I got my money back. Happy happy, joy joy. ...or so I thought.....

So here I am, three weeks later, and I notice this "REV PROV CRDT" thing on my statement! On top of that, I had only $20 left of available credit on the card (I'm out of a job and struggling to graduate high school, so a $500 credit limit only goes so far..) so this $64.95 charge resulted in my card going over the limit and my credit card company kicking me while I'm down!

I'm getting scammed here and I'm pretty certain my credit card company won't give a !!!!! What do I do, and will this harm my credit? I'm not even 19 yet so I don't know a whole lot about how credit works.

Could someone please tell me how I can reverse this charge, and undo my over limit fee? I'm really starting to panic right now!!!

Thank you!

I think you'd do better to ask this question on a US website as this site is based in the UK and its users have a far deeper understanding of UK law relating to credit cards than US law.

    Hope that helps. :)

  • In the above notes re Rev Prov Credit, there is no mention of a phone number, with which to contact this company. I too, have had charges of $20 billed to my Visa account, and I have purchased nothing from them. What is being done to clamp down on this company from a legal standpoint? Please help me deal with this. Thank You.

I just re-read your reply. You recommend that this person ask this question of a US website, but you don't offer any web addresses, on which to do that. You need to be more specific in order to help each of us. I need a specific US web address. I am finding more than one fraudulent charge on my Visa, and have already changed my Visa card twice previously. Thank you.

Google is your friend :) Rather than waiting for someone to do it for you, seize the moment!
