travel republic-wrong prices

I received emails and texts today to go to my booking.. On opening them they are saying that 2 hotel rooms I booked 3 days ago in Portugal had been priced wrongly, even though I had received confirmation of my bookings at the time via email. They give me 3 options, cancel and get full refund, pay over £600 extra per room, or rebook and get 5% discount... This surely isnt right ? How can they pull the booking from me once I've had confirmation. Plus it was advertised on trivago and travel republic at the price I paid for at least 2 days .

I assume this was a pricing error
section 10 here https://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/agency-terms.aspx
" in cases where details other than price are materially incorrect we will offer you the choice of continuing with your booking or cancelling with a full refund of money paid on that booking only."
You don't give the price details but I assume with a £600 difference to pay this looked like a "great bargain" as it was clearly the incorrect price0 -

I agree with Caz3121. Those '2 days' aren't any reason for them to honour your booking. Errors happen. For example, they might well have been over a weekend with no IT support to get the webpage amended. Which, as you booked 3 days ago therefore on Saturday, seems very likely to be the case and you clearly knew it was a pricing error and were looking to take advantage. Get the refund and find somewhere else, you've got no leg to stand on on this one.0 -
Can you find similar rooms from competitors similarly priced to your original price? If so you might have an argument.0

I see what you're saying, but I know these hotel prices have been sold at this lower price on other dates, and in fact on the dates I booked, but a few months ago. So its not like its just a bizarrely cheap price that looked like an error, especially as they were advertised as last room left at this price... Also I questioned this new price I was quoted, and now its suddenly only £200 more, not £600... So I do feel they were trying to rip me off don't you ?0

It sounds like a genuine error in their pricing.
I dont think they were trying to rip you off. It's sometimes easier just for them to negotiate with you, so they make a loss compared to what they were meant to be charging, but in the interests of closure, they have now offered a better rate.
I've done that myself in the (rare) occasion I have been in the same boat.0
