Grouping download folder by date

My download folder has been conveniently grouping files by the date they were downloaded. So I had most recent donwloads at the top, then downloads from yesterday below, from last week below that, and so on.Today, however, I turn on my computer to find that the folder has no grouping for some reason. How do I go back to the old grouping system?

When you look at a folder with "a program" like Windows Explorer or My Computer, and you have chosen Details, you can sort the files by any of the column headings, like file name, date modified, size, and so on.

Just click on the column heading (either once or twice to get the direction of sorting right), and this setting should persist until you make another change.

Thanks, I figured it out. It's View - Group By - Date Modified.

Group By and Order By are subtly different things. :)
