Good Morning everyone, cold again here too but at least bright and sunny. I am also really fed up with this cold weather, it seems to be worse this year than it has been in the past for me and I'm beginning to look like a michelin man in the evenings wrapped up in warm throws and snuggling on my chair moved over to the wood stove. Oh how I long for some warmer days and to be able to enjoy being outside instead of scuttling along like a beetle with the only thought in my head to get back indoors as quickly as possible.
DD2 and that Zebra and SIL are currently having a break in the snow in Scotland. Zebra hasn't seen snow before and I wonder what he's made of it? SIL will be off skiing with the friends they have gone with so he'll be happy at least. Today sees us start to clear the smaller back bedroom in readiness for a new carpet and tomorrow will be spruce up day in there if any painting needs to be done. Looks like we're going to be busy, look after yourselves and stay warm, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,My GP appointment went just as expected - increase your antibiotics and see how you go! Sample sent off and ring for result. I see consultant again on the 16th March but I am not expecting a miracle cure from him either. They all agree the early menopause is at fault for "thinning" some bits and "thickening" others but seem unable to cure it! I knew I should have stayed on HRT longer!!
Slept well last night. Slept in later than usual too.
Off down to see Mom in a bit. Hope she is well.
My daughter in South Africa messaged me last night. Something else for me to worry about. She has a curvature of the spine. It was picked up about 5 years or so when she went for a medical to be let into Oz. Well she was playing with the babies in the pool the weekend and felt the back of her neck crack. Well it appears that not only has she got a curvature of the spine her spine is actually twisting too. As Mums yourself, you can imagine how I'm feeling.
Oh well, I'd best get on with starting my day.
Onwards and forwards,

Morning all! Second load of washing in the machine and bathrooms cleaned. Popping out to walk down to town in a bit to collect a book from the library and have another door key cut - we have lost one, it will probably turn up but I'd rather get a spare. Then I must wash the floors and might do some baking.0

Morning all,
Judi - Sorry to hear about your DD. Can anything be done?
Sunny but very cold out. Back to work for me, did the early bit then whizzed into Tesco to pick up a little more veg for the slow cooked mint lamb shoulder stewy think I am doing in the SC.
Off for a walk with my friend this afternoon. Back to work shortly.
Have a good day0 -
J am so sorry to hesr about your DD, and I can quite understand how wrried you are.
I would suppose if anything can be done it is likely to be a lengthy process, spines are very complicated parts of our body.
Sending hugs to you and DD and try not to worry too much until she has been to see a Doctor.

Thank you for your support. My daughter is seeing a chiropractor at the moment. I asked her if surgery was an option and she said she hoped it wouldn't be needed but when I looked at the picture she sent me of her standing upright I cant see it getting any better or even staying the same. She is seeing the chiropractor on Thursday meanwhile she is sitting this course for the benefit of the Baby Home.
Theres something not right at the Residential home where Mom is. I feel a cool distance between myself and the staff which isn't coming from me. I feel like they have pulled ranks now my brothers girlfriend has made complaints against the home. I cant quite put my finger on it but the friendliness has gone and its been replaced with a professional attitude and lack of warmth towards me. Mom is not well, she is hallucinating again. I mentioned it to the staff and they have taken a urine sample to see if she's got an infection. Only last week we were having a laugh in the dining room but today I feel a brick wall between us.
I got hailed on, on the way home. Its snowing now, just lightly but snowing nonetheless. The sun is shining and looks so bright.
Finally, I can say Lucy dogs' tummy is settled. Seems like the natural yogurt has done the trick. Millie dogs scratching is much better. Looks like the change of diet is working. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi all,
I,m back on the OS wagon again, the kitchen is almost complete, just waiting for gas fitter to plumb in the hob and a damaged drawer front to be replaced - cannot beleive how much I,ve missed proper cooking - and the cost of convenience food is horrific - doubled my grocery spends pretty much.
Dumpling - well done with the weight loss, I wish I had your determination - good on you.
Judi - I hope your DD is okay - poor love x

Islandmaid your kitchen is gorgeous.
Judi, do you feel you could ask for a meeting with the care home manager, just you and her to find out what has happened? You sound as though you have had a good rapport with the staff up to now it would be a shame to lose that.

Judi Your poor DD, what a worry xx
csarina, I hope that the GP can sort out what it is, have you tried to get him onside to help with getting a council bungalow? xx
TA I hope that DH is ok after the injection.
Dumpling well done on the weight loss :T
Islandmaid the kitchen looks amazing :T
Managed to get two loads of washing nearly dry on the line before we had rain, it is now on the airers.
We popped over to Hemel as soon as DH got home from work, mainly to use the coupon from the works that I have earned on the card.
Bought four books to put away for Christmas presents total cost zero:j
Got to go to town in a little while, I need to get some money out of the BS because we are buying the new bathroom suite shower and tiles tomorrow and they will deliver it for free because we are spending well over £200
Just got to hire a skip now, which isn't cheap
I really can't wait to get it done, then we will be decorating all of the bedrooms and the hall, stairs and landing, followed by the downstairs loo, two reception rooms and if we have enough money left this year we want to put a new kitchen in, if I can find one that I actually like, so far I have not been impressed with design or quality.
DD is finally ready so we are orf to town
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
