Hello,

Im just setting up a photography site for my OH and need some help:

1) I use Fasthosts Linux hosting and they dont seem to have any cPanel (heard that mentioned here). How easy is it to install and use coppermine?

2) I dont have a database and fasthosts charge £25 for one. Can I not create my own MYSQL database to put on my site as coppermine needs it? Or do I need to bite the bullet and pay up?

3) Anyone got an example coppermine site?

4) Anything better I could use that would work well and not involve the extra database charge? Need to be able to sell the pics eventually.

Thanks in advance! :)

Coppermine is fairly easy to setup, but you will need Mysql hosting. Looking at Fasthosts hosting packages they are very expensive especially for an additional charge for mysql.
Perhaps a change of hosts is your best option? Check first if there is a charge for transferring to another host. If you have problems setting up Coppermine, let me know?

Thanks - they have so many packages I wasnt sure. Can I not just stick to my package (basic linux - paid for the year until July next year) and add the database (costs £25) or are there additional costs? :( - was recommended them and just hope I wasnt wrong to get the year subscription and waste £45!)
