How do I set up Argos freepost on eBay
Tombo077
Hello and can anyone help me please with the following;
I saw that it was possible to list my eBay items with FREE POST using click and collect at Argos.
I can also see and read the help page on eBay but they do not tell me very clearly how to make listings compatible with this service. Does anyone know how to do this or what search words or phrases to use in Google or YouTube!
I completely stuck and just cannot work it out
Also my attempt to get help on a Forum so here's hoping it's in the right place!

Think you may have been a bit confused somewhere down the line. A buyer can select "click and collect" where you post their item to their local Argos store and they can collect it. You can charge postage on top of the purchase price or offer it to them from "free", but you still have to pay the postage to the Argos store obviously.0

As above, the buyer collects from Argos. The seller has to send it to Argos sorting centre to be distributed to the shop of the buyer's choice.
The seller will still pay postage.
If you were just confused with the terminology and wanted to offer click and collect as an option it will be one of your postage options, if you can offer it. When last I heard it hadn't rolled out to every seller, whether it now has or not I don't know..0 -
As RFW says I don't think irt was rolled out to everybody.
However, if you have a qualifying listing, ie 1 day dispatch and free postage then if you are eligible the option appears as a tick box under your normal postage options.

Thank you for all the replies.... but Yeap I am still confused...!
Surely it is NOT freepost if you have to pay to post the item to Argos?
I understood that I could take my items to my local Argos (in Plymouth in this instance) for 'free' internal distribution through the Argos store network anywhere in the country, hence FREEPOST, clearly not?
How about that though as an idea?
There is absolutely no info about this anywhere, I even called the Argos eBay helpline and they could not help me either!
So in short, it's not free at all, just a way of getting eBay customers into Argos?0 -

There is NO such thing as freepost. It should be called 'inclusive'.
I am not sure what you don't understand, it's been explained perfectly well.
You (the seller) sends the item to the Argos depot that the buyer uses at checkout.
Argos process it and text the buyer who then goes to collect it.
It's a case of you sending it to a 'more convenient' point [their local Argos] than sending it to their home.0 -

Unfortunately you have completely misunderstood the scheme. The link I posted earlier explains it very well- or so I thought.
The free post is for the buyer- just like many items now. 99% of my items show up to the buyer as 'free post' but I do still pay the postage myself as the seller.
Read the link I posted- this is an ebay initiative, not an Argos one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Why would Argos want to sort post?

Yes, one reason is just another way of getting people into Argos, some people find it very useful to collect their goods that way..0 -
Tombo, I am a buyer who has used this option many times. It is more convenient for me to select an Argos store for collection than to wait in not knowing exactly when a parcel will come. Also, there is no danger that if it does not arrive I will be suspected of receiving it and saying it has not come!
I always look for a competitive price though, as some sellers inflate their prices to cover 'free' postage and I can get a better deal outside eBay.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

I always thought that was an urban myth until I actually saw someone ask on the community boards. :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
