Fuse has blown so no dash,

What happens when you change the fuse, has your garage indicated why the fuse has gone?

I myself have never come across a car that just had one fuse covering every function?

It's not uncommon - and, arguably, very good practice - to have a single fuse covering everything bar the starter and maybe charging.

Money for a car that needed a lot of work u can get the same car for a lot less like £2500??!! Thanks

So why didn't you buy a cheaper one and have some budget to pay for fixing bits? To be honest £400 is neither here nor there and could easily be accounted by condition or mileage between 2 vehicles the same age.

start putting it in writing and send via signed for delivery (someone told me to put an empty match box in a brown bag with the letter so they so actually sign for it and not refuse delivery of it) give him 14 days to respond. then send another with another 14 days grace to respond but head it in letter before action. If your rejecting it you make it plain and why you are and remind of the verbal agreement Twice of it in a letter. if then no response, then onto county court, where you maybe offered mediation between yourselves to sort it out of court, if that fails it will be heard before a judge to decide.

Do not drive it. once you reject it no longer belongs to you, be clear that they can collect it upon refund.

I have access to a label printing rig. One up with be to reuse an amazon cardboard mailer. haha. They'll be so excited to get it that they'll sign for it. then KA-BLAM!

Off-topic, but can you explain why having a single fuse would be good practice?

I am planning a resto on an old trail bike of mine, and one of the things I am planning to do is reconfigure the wiring loom so that it doesn't rely on one fuse for every function. One 20A fuse covers ignition, lights and even indicators, which is great for simplicity off the beaten track, but not good for regular road use. I had a slight short of the headlight supply to the frame one night (age-related chafing of the insulator) and it killed everything - all lights, engine, the lot. Not even the option to put an indicator on for some emergency lighting until you could get off the road. On a dark, unlit road with heavy traffic, it was pretty scary.

    Just interested in your reasoning.
