laptop speakers help please!

just been to currys, comet, pc world, comet had an offer on some 35watt logitech 2.1 speakers, got them to try them and the sound was well, poo. Some 20 watt advent ones were actually better (i dont want to pay more than 30 pounds)..i desperately need some SMALL speakers for my laptop if its possible, i dont know the model number but in argos there are some small logitech speakers for £30 which look great but i doubt they will have good bass...i really dont want the large bass speaker and 2 satellites as they take up too much room and i already have a cd player with big speakers on my desk (not good enough for running the laptop sound through though)
im confused. can i get 2 small speakers with decent bass and not really cheap looking for £30 high street?

And yes the speakers are very Good .I recently bought some for a p.c i was asked to build .
I tested them on my lappy .I was going to just watch the begining of the shooter ..Just to check the sound ...2 hours later I had been immersed (genuinly) ...I would highly recomend these speakers .Their understated looks just add to their wow factor .

Thanks, can you tell me how decent the bass is compared with 2.1 standard logitech speakers sort-of-thing as thats the only thing i have to base the sound on as i am using them now for wmp (bfs speakers), they were around 30 quid. The bass is actually pretty good.

and another question...this has been bugging me for a long time and i know theres a really simple stupid answer.
12 years ago i bought a really high spec samsung cd player which i still use now. The bass on it beats anything still even now BUT when i run my computer through its speakers through the aux socket, the bass and clarity is poor, yet a cd is amazing. Why is this, i'm dying to know!

From the reviews (including user) I've read the bass is not all that good but 'crisper' than many 2.1s, & should be more than enough for most users. See this post with all the links & reviews.

globalds, to be fair the PCW £35 find was yours after Amazon raised their price (& it's GoofyGAT ;)), G

As I said I watched the Shooter .Lots of sniper fire .Helicopters and explosions .The t20's have a large bass hole on the top it seems to run up the back of the box behind the tweety stuff .It is a vey clear bass that can almost be felt .
I also played some Dance music ..a bit of Axwell I've found love ....sounded very good .

    im so infuriated!
Currys and pc world will not let me listen to them and i dont want to buy them if i cant hear them first?
ive been through so many reviews...mostly positive but a few people saying the bass is rubbish, but compared to what?
the speakers i have at the minute are similar to logitech x210's (cant get the exact model number but i think its the model up from this, £29.99 in pc world)
and although muffled they have very good bass, turned up they can vibrate furniture lol and they were only £30.
can the bass on these t20's match a bog standard set of logitech 2.1's, i know ive kind of asked this already but if anyone else who has them can compare the bass in them to another product that would be great, all the reviews i have seen mention the middle and treble really.
also do you think they are the best 2.0 for the money? if theyd just let me hear the things first i wouldnt have to keep asking!! does any other set of speakers in the same price range (less than 50 quid) compare?
45 is a lot of money to me thats why im being so finniky so bear with me and thanks to globalds/goofygat for all your help so far.

i got them...first impressions are the bass is not very good. they are very clear and like it says, lows and midtones are very good, but the bass just doesnt cut it. the £30 logitechs are far better...so deciding to keep them now...
i heard it sounds better if you download audio sandbox (srs wow) but it will not install on my vista machine at all?
edit-sandbox made it twice as tinny as it already was!
