Help - oven packed up!

As is very typical in the summer holidays, we have had a catastrophe! My Zanussi ZCE7610 electric fan cooker has packed up on me, precisely 1 week after the guarantee expired. The main oven does not heat up, but the fan works and it would appear that it was the cause of the fuse box tripping yesterday (didn't narrow it down to that at the time, but it was on!).
Does this sound like a problem I can fix? What part would I need for this (I have written to Zanussi, but don't know how long they would take to reply)? Is it relatively cheap to get a part like this and relatively easy to replace?
Please excuse the numpty questions! Can't afford to replace the thing at the moment and the small top oven is ok for little bits, but I really need the bottom oven working.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

It sounds like your element has gone. The same thing happened to me, the fan worked but there was no heat.
I watched the bloke repair mine and all he did was take the back panel off the inside of my oven and put a new element in. Took him 15 minutes.
If it is quite easy to get to I would have thought you could do it yourself. Element on my oven cost about £20.0 -
Thanks, Loobysaver! I've looked online and e-spares do them for about £18 for generic and about £30 for Electrolux/Zanussi. Anyone know if there's any major differences between them? Also I appear to have a choice between 2500w and 2000w, but I don't know the difference (apart from 500w obviously!) - which is better?
Thank you again(around £20 easier than around £400 lol)

Hi Pollyskettle,
Call up Zanussi customer service and tell them that you spent the extra on a quality brand expecting it to last and can they help as it's only a week out of warranty. Usually you'll get some concession toward a repair or a free one.
Be nice!

Hi kwatt
Thank you, I might well just try that! Will let you know if it works.
Thanks
