The Car Finance company loan not on credit file

I had/have a poor credit score so I had to use TCFC so I could get a car, so I'm paying well over the odds for a car, thats not my issue, I know I'm a risk because of my credit score.

If anyone knows the answers to my questions or has any advice for me I'd be very grateful.

1. I've had this agreement for 2 years and it has never once been on my credit file on experian, should it be on there?

2. I've not missed a payment and in fact, I have paid higher amounts every month and I'm set to pay it off about 8 months early, if this was on my credit file, could it have positively affected my credit score?

3. why is it not on there?

Comments

  • Have you looked at all three credit agencies, its possible that the loan company only report to one. Each CRA may have different agreements registered on them, some companies report to all three, others do not.
  • They only use Call Credit so try Noddle!

2 points above are wrong, you do not have a credit score.

You are possibly referring to the number generated by the credit reference agencies to tempt you into paying for their worthless service that will magically increase the score they give you (surprise surprise) - CRA do not lend you money so how they score you is meaningless - the people who lend you money have their own scoring process and only use the data from the CRA.

Keep paying back the loan and get a credit builder CC to pay for day to day expenses and pay off in full every month and you will be fine over time

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
