Is it easy to apply for a visa for the above country? My concern is the printer plays up sometimes just in case it does not print. Is it possible to save the document? Thanks

To circumvent your printer issue why not do the application from the library or work where you could print if necessary?
Have you looked on Trip Advisor and searched under this topic?
According to this link you could do it all online. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/sri-lanka/entry-requirements

Really easy.
You can always save to PDF and print from elsewhere0 -

You don't need a physical copy.
Much like the American Visa system you apply for it online and the computerised records show up at the immigration desk in Colombo.0 -

Same with the Turkish e-visa too.
BUT it's still best to have a paper copy just on the off-chance that the immigration computer system at Colombo has thrown a wobbly.0
