Aegean Airlines

My daughter will be travelling to Greece in the summer to stay with her father and stepmother, I have seen flight tickets with Aegean Airlines which I would like to purchase... I am really worried about buying tickets with the state of Greece and the relationship with the European bank at the moment. It is a big purchase for us, is it wise to purchase from a Greek airline now or not?

Well it won't be putting me off booking flights with them any time soon ;) but I'm biased because my OH is Greek.

I love Aegean for lots of silly reasons.
They're cabin crew are lovely. They serve the best coffee I've had on any airline and the honey Cretan wine (if available) is gorgeous. Last summer, Aegean invested in new Airbus A320's so they're not struggling too much financially.

Please bear in mind when booking Aegean, that they don't do full entertainment programmes on their flights, but for service, food and drink, and comfort, they beat the low cost airlines hands down. I always check the fare for a low cost, add the cost of food, etc...and compare to Aegean's fare which includes food and drink.

I've booked a couple of internal flights with Aegean - The country relies on it's tourist industry for a major chunk of income, so hopefully it will all still run smoothly. (My flights there are with BA which were reasonable booked early though).
