Parking Eye and Yeovil District Hospital

More grief for patients and visitors. When will these hospitals trusts learn?

http://www.westerngazette.co.uk/ParkingEye-car-park-Yeovil-District-Hospital/story-26045600-detail/story.html

A NEW parking system at Yeovil District Hospital could be making some users “sick with rage”.
Feedback given on the Western Gazette’s Facebook page revealed that new rules requiring patients to remember what time they entered the car park have not been popular so far.

so , yet again not following the Dept of Health guidelines issued by Jeremy Hunt over 6 months ago !!

I see PE think its successful all around the country, failing to admit the ones where people are complaining or where they have lost their contract

the sooner the government makes the guidelines compulsory the better

I also note that the hospital used the word FINE, a clear case of having no idea what they are talking about

A ParkingEye spokesperson said: “The car parks at Yeovil District Hospital are managed by ParkingEye through the use of automatic number plate recognition.

Said many, many times (and even more), but just how do ANPR cameras ever 'manage car parks'?

    Oh dear.....
A hospital spokesman said: “The electronic barriers only used to let one vehicle through at a time and that would lead to queues forming, sometimes as far back as Reckleford.

People who deliberately leave without paying will be fined but concessions will be made on compassionate grounds, for example if someone was visiting a seriously ill relative and didn’t pay.”

Yeh, right. Try running that one past PE!

And yet another hospital falling for PE's propaganda:-

BPA don't care about that, according to them, they have until October to comply with that.

Will they try and use the infomercial justification argument?

I just hope the Hopitals have enough funds stashed away to re-fund motorists who have been 'fined' by their agents.

Already discussed in this thread: forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5128363

This is the very last hospital car park (actually car parks) that PE should have been let loose in. There are far too few spaces (even with the addition of the new car park) and for some years visitors/patients have had to cope with the choice of running the gauntlet in surrounding streets - all of which are residents parking - or the longer walk from the town centre south of Reckleford. That might not sound too bad but it entails having to use the drunk and down-and-out inhabited underpasses. Now they have to face "PE Lotto" courtesy of their guess-what-you-owe-us system.

The barrier system was simple and fair albeit that the car park was ridiculously small. Particularly during the morning rush hour and after lunch queues often reached out on to Reckleford (as referred to in the quote above) - which is actually the A30 and a busy dual carriageway. Besides, PE's presence isn't going to address any of the traffic problems and with rural bus services being what they are (non-existant) the vast majority of people can only get there by car. And before any wise-acres create a clamour about there being a bus service to the door this operates from the local bus station and you have to get there first.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(
