Inconsidererate, aggressive, but not necessarily dangerous. Report?

Had this pleasant chap to deal with on my way home:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhJgx9C_fpI

Clearly just doesn't like cyclists, unless someone can give any good reasons they believe justify his actions.

Worth reporting this one?

I realise my language may have harmed my credibility, again!

Hard to see how much room you were given, but it was unnecessarily dangerous in my opinion. He should have waited a second or two until the approaching car had passed you safely.

I think, if the police had witnessed this, they would have offered strong words of advice to the motorist, but not taken any further action.

    YOU have a problem.

YOUR problem is that YOU are the vulnerable one.

It doesn't matter one little bit whether you were in the right or you were in the wrong.

YOU are the one that's going to get physically hurt.

The A*hole's may live to regret their foolishness, and some of 'em, their lives will be decimated.

But you, you are the one who will feel the physical pain.

What exactly do you want to happen?

What is it that will make your world better?

You are a vulnerable cyclist, minding your own business, surrounded by A*holes.

What solutions to YOUR problem are there?

About all you can do is report every incident of dangerous driving and hope that drivers learn their lesson or are banned from the roads.

You seem to have quite a hostile attitude about the idea that drivers have a responsibility to drive safely and courteously. Out of interest, what is it that will make your world better? What solutions to YOUR problems are there?

I am a cyclist, a motorcyclist, a motorist and occasionally I drive a very big lorry with lots of wheels.

Oh, BTW, I also regularly ride a horse as well as occasionally drive 4/6 team + carriage.

Putting my obviously hostile attitude to one side, I'm left wondering about who's side I should be on?

Could you jump to one of your pre-determined, prejudiced conclusions for me?

I sometimes call 101 to report idiots who drive dangerously if they have put my life in risk - there are some people who seem to think shaving a couple of seconds off their important journey is worth the risk of ending someone's life.

We mostly all drive as well as cycle. Many of us drive other classes of vehicle too.

    To the OP.
I would class the BMW's driving as 'careless' by virtue of being inconsiderate and aggressive. It is prosecutable on the basis of your evidence, but it's on the edge in terms of whether it would be run. If someone saw fit to bring me a video such as this and provided a supporting statement, I'd report said driver. I'd also issue a S59 warning.
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

None of which makes any sense to me at all.

Would you care to clarify your nonense when you is sober ?

You inferred that it is the victim's problem if they are exposed to risk. I suppose you also blame rape-victims for leaving the house and daring to venture into the "big wide world" where they are surrounded by "A*holes". Just imagine if you'd said this to someone who had been raped:

And that's the problem with your whole mentality. You're blaming the victim, and think that it somehow makes any difference that you cycle and ride horses. So what?! I never criticised you for your choice of transport!

Asking whose side you should be on just shows how you want to reduce the discussion to a banal and pointless game of "my transport makes me a better person than you". Or were you being sarcastic... and therefore jumping to one of your pre-determined, prejudiced conclusions about me?

Not sure what "nonense" is, but the last paragraph was to assist the OP, not you.

If you desperately need a step by step explanation of my post I'll be happy to provide it.

When you ride a bicycle then you run the risk of becoming the victim.

    In a car/lorry v bicycle interface . . . usually the bicycle will lose.

    Don't you agree?

It does not matter whether you are right or wrong.

You are NOT helping anyone to come to a solution, you are only fanning the fires of hatred and confusion.
