    Are you comparing new business quotes to renewal prices? NB is always going to be cheaper for 99% of insurers. Most insurers give heavy online/ NB discounts which roll off in the following renewals and ultimately are funded by those that stay with them for donkeys years paying substantially above NB prices.
  • No, I am comparing NB to NB, I never accept paper renewal quotes and always get a new policy on the website. Worked well, gradually reducing the premium by 10ish% every year, till now.

    Insurances groups don't necessary count for much. Certain cars carry a much higher risk than the insurance group they are assigned to due to various social reasons. Corsas and young lads are a classic example.
  • Either way the difference between the old car and the new car is only £30 if I change it in the current quote.
