If you don't intend to overclock and use a discrete graphics card consider the Xeon 1230v3.

i have a 2gb 7950 graphics card, z87 m/b. it will be used mainly for games
i assumed the i5 4xxx series would be the way to go for gaming, plus im on a budget

The Xeon 1230v3 is pretty much the same as a 3.3ghz i7 just without the IGP, it's also multithreaded which an i5 isn't. If it's a budget and an i5 then you are in £140-150 territory, avoid the S low power i5s.

looking on ebay Xeon 1230v3 go for a similar price to the 4670k
pity i dont know anyone selling one
