Are they aware of your correct address - you can log on and register at the share portal here if you have your reference number:

Cheers Bro .... got me registered on the portal. Trouble is I gotta wait until I get an activation code to get into it proper ....
Can someone of you experts give me the low down on what I should have had by now ... I know the 73p per share cash ain't gotta be here yet, but I ain't sure what I should have had.
Also, share price today is about 484p - is that the value of the reduced shares or is the value of the shares as they are/were before the reduced amount?0 -
If you have had these shares for a while saver you should have been getting dividends twice a year - normally paid straight in to your bank account (check the missus's account).
The £4.84 is the close today - so if you had 400 in February worth about £1,600 you have 327 shares now worth: £1,582 today. PLUS a nice wee cheque on its way for 400 x 0.71p. = £284 - so you are all in better of and a wee bit more cash-rich.and you didnt even know it. Winner.

Oops - you are even better off than I had initially thought - I have publicly displayed my ineptitude yet again on this thread.
ApologiesIt is .73p and you have or your wife does - an extra £8 in your sky rocket.

I'm glad I am not the only one puzzled by all of this. I received shares after demutualisation, so not a share-trading expert! As I understood it, once the sale of the Canadian arm was approved, shareholders would then get additional shares equal to their existing holding, OR you could opt in to get the cash instead. Logged into my shareholder account to find that I now have fewer shares. I am not clear whether this includes the bonus though? As far as I can see, I now have a smaller investment and as soon as the share price drops again it will be even worse - I am not clear how I have benefitted from this at all? Some people have mentioned a cash payment as well, but surely that is just if you have opted in? It's all fairly imaginary money to me anyway, but it would be nice to think that it was going to actually result in more shareholding value, not less!0

The shareholding value plus the cash you're going to get is more than the shareholding was worth before they sold Canada. There was no option to get new shares other than special shares that would be bought off you. Either way, you were always going to get cash. There was a choice whether to get it as a dividend or a capital return depending on which, if any, was better for your personal tax situation.
They have already consolidated your old shares into fewer new ones, so what you can see in your account is the value of what you are left with on top of the spare money that the company didn't need after the Canada sale which is winging its way to you and will get paid to you in a week or few.
The money which is on its way to you as a dividend is going to be 73p for every old share you used to have.
Or just read the preceding 198 posts for the full backstory.0 -
You have the patience of a saint bowlhead. Just a pity you haven't benefited from this. You deserve it.
What's your gut feeling on the share price remaining at their current high? Given there are fewer shares in circulation and the reasonably good news re inflation, do you think this conflagration of events may steady them around 4.80ish?0
