Billed by electrician for labour but problem not fixed

    I can top that. Our ground floor lighting circuit kept blowing. Called out electrician have used before, he was on holiday sent round his partner. Unable to diagnose fault so said would not charge and to call back if it continued. Few days later we diagnosed it was outside light at front door. Turned it off and all been fine since. I texted electrician and said we know what problem is, do you want to come and fix and we can pay you for it? No reply. Next a bill arrives for £80 for checking ground floor circuits. I email electrician explaining his partner did not find problem but we have now worked it out and if he comes round and fixes it we will pay him cash, on the spot. No reply. Next a threatening letter arrives saying proposing legal action for unpaid bill. Write back and say problem was never fixed and partner said would be no charge until it was....................
