At the end of my tether with harassing unwanted phonecalls

Just checked my BT8500 phone in one week 14 callers never got through . Each one a unwanted sales call .
Well worth the money and cheaper than the True Call unit .
The phones actually use the True Call technology .0 -
Complain EVERY time they ring. https://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/...r/Default.aspx
Then sue them for your time. I am sure there is a sory about someone taking them to court.
By the way blocking witheld calls can block friends and family, my MIL has a witheld number.
That is no use if they withhold their number or spoof it.over 73 but not over the hill.0 -

Can you confirm that these BT 'phones with call blocking option work fully when there are other "normal" 'phones plugged into extension sockets?
I did read a review somewhere that did advise the call blocking didn't work with extra extension 'phones on the premises.0 -
Yes I have had the Consumer Survey people ringing me constant, they are a pain, I don't answer now as I have caller display, but still a pain as they ring nearly every hour on some days. I had a new one today which I answered and it was for a pre paid funeral planning, she got quite funny with me when I told her I was not interested, hopefully they wont ring me again.0

Here's the manual for that phone. Had a quick skim through it, but couldn't see any such restriction noted.

Mine works fine with other phones on extensions but you have to let it answer the call . If you pick up a normal handset then you bypass it and the line is live .0

We had a similar problem for a few months - calls at least once a day from a withheld number, despite being registered with TPS, almost certainly originating outside the UK. I tried saying no thanks, tried just hanging up on them, tried asking them not to ring again but nothing made any difference until one day they interrupted me in the middle of a really complicated piece of work and I completely lost my temper and told them to F off. This is incredibly out of character for me - I don't think I've ever sworn at anyone other than myself and politicians on the TV in my life, and I'm blushing just thinking about it - but it worked! We never got another call from them.0

No as i found that even BT4500 phone messed up the address book .
Number 0223436678 in the address book on BT8500 .
Syncs ok to BT4500 but once you take a call on the BT 4500 the address book changes the number to 0000000.
Does work paired with another BT8500 .
TPS is fairly useless as most of these calls are rogues or non UK call centres .
F in at them gives satisfaction but they probably sell on your number .0 -
We have a caller display gadget which shows up numerous 0800 numbers calling during the day. I was working from home today and had at least 4 which I just ignore. Of course it could be the same 0800 number. Get the display gadget which I think is about a tenner off amazon or alternatively just put the phone down on them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
