Prices are up or down depending where you want to live - we're heading for Western Australia where prices have gone up quite a bit. We'll have to rent for a bit anyway until we find out for ourselves where the right area is.
Thanks for the info though!

Ah, WA. Good choice of place to live (I'm from there originally)- I'm assuming you're going to Perth? Depending on how much money you have to play with, and what areas you prefer to live in, you can get a 4/5 bed, 2 plus bathroom, plus living room, family room, dining room, laundry etc etc plus swimming pool and a big garden, carport or garage in a lovely area, probably close to the river or the beach, for the price of a 3 bed semi in an average part of greater London.
Also buying property over there is so much simpler and quicker, as an offer is basically a binding agreement (once it's in writing) so there's no such thing as gazumping/gazundering etc or pulling out just before exchange etc as people tend to play a bit fairer there.0 -
Not Perth itself but either Mandurah or Bunbury, although will depend on where my husband gets work!
Cant wait to just get out there and get on with it....0 -
Ah. You should get even more for your money, or have to spend less to get something decent, south of the city then. Bunbury gets larger and larger every year. Went there in Sept for the first time in about 5 or so years and was well impressed with all their new harbourside developments, shops, restaurants etc that have sprung up. It used to be a country town a mere 25 years ago...0
