Mira Shower hose - How do I replace it?

Hiya, Can anyone help me.

I've got a Mira mixer shower. The chrome hose is split at the top so needs replacing. Is this an easy job that I can do or is it complicated??

I'm assuming I'd have to turn the water off at the mains and somehow disconnect the hose. Do you think it just needs unscrewing or is it fixed on some other way? Also, where's the best place to buy a new hose?

As you can probably tell I am useless at anything to do with DIY!!!!:eek:

You should be able to unscrew your chrome hose from where it connects to the outlet point (as long as you have your shower turned off you shouldn't have a problem!). Take this along with shower head to your local DIY shop who should have a suitable replacement! We've done this many times for our Mira shower hose - the children tend to swing on it!!!!

Oh, and don't bother with Mira's own plastic/wire/foil hoses; they're quite expensive and don't last as long as the chromed ones you'll get from your local hardware store.

Thanks for that. I got quoted £16 for a Mira hose from the local builders merchants.

Are the chrome one's in the hardware stores all standard fixings then?

I think most shower hoses are claimed to have universal fitting to most manufacturer's showers. Was looking at some in Wilkinson which appeared to be cheaper than B&Q might be worth looking at if you have a store near to see if they look like what you are after.
