    Hi,

The virgin media is TV / Phone and internet tried asking for a lower rate but they said no.

On there website they are offering 3 for £30 for all customers. Tell them you have cut back. I get Internet, Land line (excluding calls) and mobile phone for £30 a month and I have been with them for about 7 years and even moved property. So they are telling porkies.

I would get on https://www.entitledto.com and see what you can get.

Council tax and water can be paid over 12 months not 10 so that will bring down the monthly amount a bit. Also a water meter might be better. As I pay about £90 every 6 months for my water for two adults in a 3 bed house.

But claim for everything you can.

Also get your Ex to cough up be it between yourself or via the CSA.

All the best and try and keep your chin up.

    Yours

    Calley

CCCS are the ones you can do via website.

Payplan ask you to phone them and want to do everything on the phone.

So if you are hesitant to phone then go to https://www.cccs.co.uk and fill out the debt remedy ;)

You should get 25% off your council tax just by being on your own.
I take it that you have no gas?
Can you do internet shopping with your gran's list & yours, to save a little petrol?
Also, look on the Old Style board for money saving housekeeping ideas.

You could also start getting yu bank statements together to see what charges you could claim. I know things are a bit up in the air with the charges but no harm in getting the statements and sending the letters !!

Not going to help in the short term but hopefully you will get the charges back at some point in the future and this could then clear some of the debt.

Am i right in thinking that you have all the debt in your name- is ANY of it in joint names?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

If you don't want to talk to anyone you can do a DMP on your own and use the national debthelplines website they have letter templates and payment calculators.

Several of us do it so if you are stuck we can help out, I personally prefer it because I am a control freak I would not sleep relaying on someone else to do it, but the support on here as helped enormously.

The CCCS seem really approachable they post on here quite a bit, whatever you choose you are not alone.

When my ex went I was better off NOT working as then I got free school meals, milk tokens, council tax benefit etc. Gets some peoples backs up but thats the way the system is.
Briefly looking at your SOA this is what I would do...
get your council tax reduced to single persons rate
it it poss to walk to school?
Also work out how much it costs you to go to work - you may be surprised!
SHift the debts onto the lowest interest rate of all the accounts you already have.
Ditch the virgin media package (only tv would have you paying that much) and get a freeview box.
See if you can get a cheaper mortgage, also get a quote for home insurance - mine HALVED by switching supplier.
I would ditch the car - internet shopping is the way to go!
Do you HAVE to sell the house? do not make any rash decisions at a stressful time like this.
By all means pursue the ex for maintenance, but do not rely on it.

Most of all, take it easy;) and good luck

Avoid selling your house at any cost. It is your one and only asset and you will have trouble getting a mortgage in the future. Your mortgage payments are low at the moment so try and make them a priority. Perhaps consider getting a lodger if you have the space to help out with paying for the house.
If you decide to continue working can you do any extra hours? Have you got help with your daughter to allow you to do this?
I got lumbered with debt from my ex years ago and it really makes you so angry. make sure you ask about if any of it can be passed over to him (ie if anything was in joint names etc)
    Best of luck!
