A commission only salesman came out from A&M Energy and inspected the property and gave me a report saying it was suitable. Later when I had all the issues I had the CWI manufacturer and the BBA inspect the property. They said: The drill pattern was non compliant, there was mortar damage that should have been repaired first, the cavity walls were not all 50mm as required, the cavities at roof level were not capped and there were two areas of single skin solid wall. So quite comprehensively not suitable!

The worst part of all, is that I found two used cavity wall bags stuffed inside my cavity wall at the area where there was a major damp problem. These were put there by the A&M workman. CIGA had nothing much to say on the matter of negligence by the installer....

I have evidence of all of this.

Unfortunately a non compliant drill pattern is normal.

Unfortunately 50mm cavities will vary and I have seen them down to 30mm or less. My intuition is your cavities were designed to be 50mm.

Unfortunately few cavities get capped off at the tops. Even those that do are not thorough and were never intended to resist a pumped insulant being forced against them. This matter has improved in recent years but these recent walls are not those that are subject to CWI!

The bags mystify me. Why were they inserted and what were the operatives trying to bodge?

If you have seen my youtube video you will see the extend of non-compliant drill pattern. The brickwork damage was incredible. At one point there are 6 drill holes in an area of 1 sq metre. A&M Energy Solutions extracted the CWI after I started court action but blew huge amounts of the CWI into the loft during extraction, so the loft is now a blanket of CWI foam. They then left it there.
