How would she go about getting a copy of her lens specifications? I can't imagine the optitions she went to (spec savers) wanting to freely give out the info.

Once she has the specifications is it just a case of giving them and a perscription to a lens maker?

Sorry for the questions, but I don't do anything she won't even bother looking into it.

she can just ask specsavers for them and they will give them to her (they have to, it's the law)
however, If she has not had an aftercare for a while then the specifications may have expired (ie, she wouldn't be able to use them to order lenses anyway).
If that is the case she would need to have a contact lens check up (I'm pretty sure specsavers only charge £20 for this, although she may be due a full sight test too, prices vary) After the check up she should get a copy of her specifications.

I wear Specsavers Easyvision one days, how can I find out what they are from another company? I can't really afford £22 a month any longer.

Yell if you have any questions.

I was with Specsavers and have just got some from www.daysoft.co.uk as recommended by someone in an earlier post. I ordered them on Wed night and they arrived yesterday. I wore them yesterday and another pair today and so far they have been really comfortable and you dont know you are wearing them. They are £13.98 for a months supply or £39.99 for 3 months inc p&p. You also get 4 days worth free to try and if you dont like them return the full packs for a refund.
  • Hello!

I've been trying Contact Lenses for the last two weeks. Some different types from Specsavers, starting from their own brand ones and now I have some Acuvue Moist ones, but still found my eyes were a little sore during the day =(

They were in the right way as well...

But, where can I get cheap 30 day supply of them. Specsavers offering it for £34.... everywhere online is more expensive =(

    Anyone have anywhere cheaper?
  • I have use http://www.discountcontactlenses.com/ in the past. They have been way cheaper than any other supplier mentioned above for daily disposable Focus Daily lenses.
  • Hi,

I am interested in trynig "discountcontactlenses.com", per the link posted above as their prices seem really good.

I've never ordered online before - please can anyone tell me what evidence of my prescription will be needed by DCL?

I'm going to get an updated prescription from Tesco Opticians this week.

Also as this seems to be a US site - do you get charged customs charges on the lenses coming into the country?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,
  • Right .. on most of these sites and other contact lens sites, the only base curve is 8.5/9.0 and a diameter of 14.2 and yet my prescription states a BC of 8.6 and a diameter of 13.8.

    Would the 8.5/14.2 do?

no - they are completely different lenses, and any site which supplies lenses which do not match your specifications (CL prescription) are acting illegally.

Ok, the only lenses I can find with these specs are Ciba vision. Do manufacturers only do very specific attributes as I can't seem to find any Acuvue lenses with my specifications?
